Clinical Assistant Professor- Physician Assistant Program-COHP 2023-2024 3 yr appt
We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's diverse student body as a Clinical Assistant Professor of The Department of Physician Assistant beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year. Responsibilities of this position may include teaching, scholarly activities, professional service, and curriculum development. Additionally, the successful
candidate is expected to participate collaboratively with other faculty in teaching and support of all educational courses within the PAD. The faculty is accountable to the Chair of the PAD at UTPA. Applicants with clinical experience and/or a teaching background are encouraged to apply.

The Physician Assistant Department is accredited for a 100 new student cohort per year. The Physician Assistant curriculum is 28 months in length. There are 16 months of didactic courses and 12 months of clinical experience. The department is approved for 20 faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters Degree in Health Care major
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
1. Applicants must have a minimum of a master's degree.
2. Applicants must have (or be eligible for) an active, non-restricted Texas License in their respected profession (if applicable).
3. MD/DO candidates must hold (or be eligible for) appropriate Board certification. Physician assistant applicants must be NCCPA certified.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of Clinical experience
License or Certification Required? Yes Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience Desired Start Date 09/01/2023Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
